    Day 1 (Tuesday) Beiijng

    Arrival transfer from the airport or rail station to your Beijing hotel.  Check in for 1 night.
    This evening at leisure to explore independently.

    Day 2 (Wednesday) Beijing/On Train

    06.00 hrs. Early this morning check out with boxed breakfast and meet your guide in the hotel lobby for your transfer to the railway, station for the first leg of your epic TransMongolian Rail journey.

    07.27 hrs Depart Beijing on Train #3 

    Enjoy your first day on the train, acquainting yourself with facilities on the train and fellow travellers.

    Day 3 (Thursday) Ulaanbatar

    Ulaanbaatar (meaning red hero) is the capital of Mongolia and the largest of it’s cities, with a population of over 1 million. Located on the shore of the Tuul river, it is an interesting blend of Mongolian and Soviet-style architecture, a hectic city with beautiful surrounding countryside.

    14.35 hrs: Arrive Ulaanbaatar
    Your guide will be waiting for you at the station, and you will travel together to the Terelj National Park via the impressive Genghis Khan Monument.  Tonight, you will live and experience a nomadic lifestyle, when you spend a night in a traditional camp, staying in a Ger (yurt), typical Nomad style accommodation.
    Dinner is included this evening.

    Supplement to upgrade to Luxury Ger (private facilities) is €60 Euros per person per night.
    In winter, there are limited facilities at the Ger Camp.

    Day 4 (Friday) Ulaanbatar

    This morning is spent at Terelj National Park in the morning. You will have the opportunity to explore Turtle Rock and to visit a nomadic family to learn about their amazing life style. Transfer back to Ulaanbaatar after lunch for a city tour including visits to Bogd Khan’s Winter Palace, Zaisan Hill Memorial and Sukhabaator Square. Check in to your hotel for one night.

    Overnight: Hotel Bayangol (or similar)

    Day 5 (Saturday) Ulaanbaator/On Train

    After breakfast this morning, we include a visit to the Gandan Monastery, where you will see Monks chanting and then on to the National History Museum.
    There will be time for lunch (not included) before transferring to the Railway Station for your train to Irkutsk.

    15.22hrs Depart Ulaanbaator on Train #305 (no dining car)

    Day 6 (Sunday) Irkutsk

    14.52 hrs: Arrive in Irkutsk. Your guide will meet you at the train for a 2 hour panoramic city tour, before transferring to Listvyanka.
    Arrive at your hotel at around 18:00 hrs and check in for 2 nights. Evening at leisure.

    Day 7 (Monday) Listvyanka

    11.00 hrs:  After breakfast, meet your guide in reception for a tour to Taltsy village for lunch and a visit to the open air Ethnographic museum.

    Arrive back in Listvyanka around 14:30 hrs.  From 14.30 hrs enjoy time at leisure or take Optional excursions on or around Lake Baikal.

    Day 8 (Tuesday) Listvyanka / Irkutsk

    09.30 hrs:  After breakfast, check out and meet in the lobby for your tour of Listvyanka, with our guide and driver.
    You will see the Observation Point, St Nikolas Church and Chersky View Point. (No entrances included).
    Afterwards, transfer to Irkutsk to the Railway Station for the next leg of your journey.

    15.52 hrs Depart Irkutsk on Train #61

    Day 9 (Wednesday) On Board

    Today is spent on board, enjoying the journey through the beautiful Russian countryside. The scenery will differ depending on when you choose to travel, each season bringing its own unique charm to a superb landscape.  There are plenty photo opportunities, making new friends with fellow travellers and exchanging stories are part of the experience. On the train you can enjoy the local refreshments from the restaurant car and snacks, which are available at all time. During the journey there are short stops made at local stations, where you can very quickly purchase food or souvenirs from the platform vendors before departing for the next part of your journey.

    Day 10 (Thursday) Ekaterinburg

    Ekaterinburg, the gateway between European and Siberian Russia, is the official capital of the Urals region of Russia. It was founded by Peter I in the 1700s as a major industrial and administrative centre, and is known for being the place where the last Tsar of Russia and his family were executed in 1918.

    13.36 hrs Arrive in Ekaterinburg where you will be met and transferred to your hotel to check in for 2 nights.  Remainder of the day at leisure.

    Day 11 (Friday) Ekaterinburg

    10.00hrs After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel reception for your panoramic City Tour of Ekaterinburg.  Included today is a visit to either the Mineralogical Museum or Military Transport Museum at Verkkhynyaya Pyshma, an amazing collection of militaria and a large private collection of vintage cars and motorbikes. You will also visit the Europe-Asia Border Obelisk, the place where East meets West. Return to the hotel around 16:00 hrs

    Day 12 (Saturday) Ekaterinburg

    Breakfast at the hotel and check out by 12.00 hrs. Today you have free time to explore the city independently, or take an optional tour to Ganina Yama (not included).
    At 12.30 hrs transfer to the Ekaterinburg Railway Station with your guide, who will see you onto the train.

    Day 13 (Sunday) Moscow

    This morning is yours to relax on board and to check your Moscow guide book before the next and final exciting leg of your journey across the world’s greatest continent. On the journey you will have travelled 7,600 kilometres through three distinctly different cultures, five time zones and 80 degrees of longitude.

    13.58 hrs: Arrival in Moscow’s Yaroslavsky Station, where you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel to check in for 2 nights.

    Day 14 (Monday) Moscow

    10.00 hrs:  After breakfast, meet your guide in the hotel reception to begin your exploration of Moscow by metro, this will include some of the most spectacular stations and the city centre, we visit the iconic Red Square and the Kremlin. During the tour you will visit the territory of the Kremlin, one of the Cathedrals and the Armoury museum. The exhibits include ancient Russian regalia, Tsar’s ceremonial robes, vestments, gold and silverware by Russian, European and Eastern masters, arms and armouries, royal carriages and ceremonial harnesses.
    Return to the hotel by metro with the guide at around 18:00hrs, or continue exploring the city and return to the hotel independently.

    • Visa support – is supplied for duration of tour only. If you require an extended visa support in Russia we can supply this from €25 per person (certain nationalities incur a higher extended visa support letter fee) – check with us for details.
    • Visa Support – is granted to eligible foreign nationals only. This is at the discretion of the authorities.
    • Chinese, Mongolian, Russian Visas – you will need to obtain your visas in advance of travel. Please check requirements with your local Consulates.
