Fast Sapsan Day Train from Moscow to St Petersburg. Book 2022 now.

OUR SERVICES IN RUSSIA ARE CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

Moscow is the thriving heart of business with fabulous architecture reflecting Stalin’s influences, alongside historical churches. It offers international designer shops, leafy parks, great restaurants and a wealth of art and culture.  St Petersburg is a calm contrast of classic Italian architecture and canals, which are reminiscent of some of Europe’s finest cities, plus great bars and restaurants and culture beyond compare.

Our Deluxe Private Journey is the perfect way for discerning travellers to see the highlights of Moscow and St Petersburg. Let us spoil you from the moment you arrive at the airport, with our personal meet and greet service, to take you to our carefully selected 5 star deluxe, centrally located hotel, close to Red Square.

Your own private, professional guide will bring history back to life as you visit the landmarks of Moscow, including the fabulous metro stations with beautiful sculptures, bronzes, mosaics and crystal chandeliers. Our itinerary includes the Kremlin and its Armoury museum and we offer you a choice of one further visit to either the Tretyakov Gallery or the Museum of Contemporary History – you choose!

With free time for exploring independently, catch the 13.30 fast Sapsan train to St Petersburg. Lunch is included on the train and you arrive at your destination with time to settle in before planning your evening.

In St Petersburg, visit the amazing Faberge Collection – the world’s finest private collection of Faberge Eggs, displayed in the beautiful surroundings of the Shuvalov Palace. We also include a visit to the world famous Hermitage Museum located in the Winter Palace. Here your guide will show you some of the original priceless artworks at the heart of the collection, which also includes sculptures, bronzes, porcelain and much more, plus the adjacent General Staff Building with a fabulous art collection which includes the rehoused Impressionists.. We also take you to Peter and Paul’s Fortress on Hare Island, the Cathedral here is the final resting place of many Tsars and the Romanov dynasty.

Your guide will take you for an out of town visit to Catherine’s Palace at Pushkin, where your private tour of the Palace will include the famous Amber Room, now completely restored by the craftsmen of the Palace’s own dedicated workshop. We invite you to choose a further excursion during your stay, to either the ornate 19th-century gold-domed St Isaac’s Cathedral, which required 900 pounds of gold, 16 tons of malachite, 1,100 pounds of lapis lazuli and 1,000 tons of bronze to decorate the interior, or the Church of our Saviour on Spilled Blood, built on a historic site and known for its intricate interior and exterior mosaics.

There’s free time for you to explore independently, or arrange a visit to that must-see museum on your wish list, take in a ballet, opera or concert performance, and dine in the city’s leading restaurants.  In summer, enjoy the outside café society of Moscow and the ‘white nights’ of St Petersburg when the sun hardly sets, or in winter, enjoy real Russia, with romantic snowy scenes.  Any time is a great time to visit.  Welcome to Russia!

If you would like to modify the programme to suit your requirements, stay in alternative hotels, or book theatre tickets, please do ask us – we are here to help!

n.b. Our proposed tour starts in Moscow on a Friday. Book your own flight/train to Moscow and departing from St Petersburg and we will do the rest. We’ll even make your restaurant reservations for you!  If you prefer to arrive in Moscow on another day, we’ll prepare a quotation for you.

  • Itinerary – 8 Day Deluxe Private Journey to Moscow and St Petersburg

“… Just to say we had a marvellous trip and absolutely no trouble. Everyone was very welcoming.  The arrangements worked very well and the guides-both women- were excellent. Moscow was far more impressive than we expected and we had beautiful weather as well. St. Petersburg was even more impressive than we were led to believe and the weather was not too bad. The hotels and service were very good.  The guide for the Diamond Room at the Hermitage confirmed tourists should opt for this room rather than the Gold Room (more for archaeological buffs)- so we got that right too. Many thanks for arranging so professionally a truly memorable trip…”    (SL from UK)
